Figuring out possible total available THC of Flower

When buying flower, most people will look for THC and CBD %’s

Typically flower will have a % of THC, this percentage will be a bit lower since it has not gone through the decarb process. THCA% will be larger because it’s more abundant in flower until it has gone through the decarb process. Total THC % is an estimate of the maximum potential thc content a product will have after it has gone through the decarb process. To calculate the “total possible amount” of THC in a particular product, you can use this formula (0.75 x 0.877 x %THCA) + %THC. The .75 accounts for the THC that degrades into CBN. The .87 accounts for the weight difference.

(.75 x .877 x % of THCA) + % of THC (Formula for possible total available THC)

(.75 is the loss from decarb)

(.877 is the weight difference)
